About the Artist
The funny t-shirts available on funny-cotton.com were all created by Edward Anthony Rudis. Ed is an artist, and his portfolio of paintings can be seen here: EdwardAnthonyDesigns.com, or by clicking on "Paintings by the artist", in the sidebar to the right. He especially enjoys creating funny t-shirts from his artwork.
Ed lives in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago, where he has lived on and off for many years. If you are in the Chicago area, look in the local craigslist, reader and other media outlets to hear about art shows by the artist. Ed regularly shows his work in Bridgeport, Chicago.
Abstract expressionism has had a large influence on the work of the artist, with Willem de Kooning being one of his largest influences. Its not just the colorful form of de Kooning's paintings, but the work ethic behind his philosophy, to wit, pursueing his heart's passion, painting, always painting, without concern for critics or current trends.
Ed has been drawing funny characters and abstract forms as far back as he can remember. When asked in school to draw a tree, Ed wanted to come up with something more interesting than just drawing a tree. The style behind funny-cotton.com and Ed's astract characters in his paintings and comics has been with him, and developed along with him, his whole life. Ed's philosophy is to draw from one's own heart. Although it is important to have mentors, or styles that one enjoys, it is also important to express from within.
